As I write this post, it is 55 degrees & sunny here in Florida. Love it! This is walk in the park and drink hot chocolate at night weather. I had to use the seat warmer feature in my car last night, so I declare it officially Fall ;-)
I love trying ALL THINGS PUMPKIN this time of year. I wanted to find a recipe for pumpkin spice coffee that I could make at home, so my cravings wouldn't expand my waistline or my wallet going to Starbucks whenever I can.
I'm trying the recipe here for this pumpkin coffee soon! With decaf of course (baby doesn't need all that caffiene, even if I think I do).
I am 17 weeks and 1 day today. Haven't felt any movement yet, but my pants are getting tighter! I will need to move on to some maternity pants or a bella band soon.
Going to the doctor tomorrow for another prenatal visit. My mommy will be coming along for support. Thanks mom.
And I must share what a great time I had last weekend at the Women of Fatih Conference in Tampa. I was blessed to go with my best friend Sharon (who doesn't mind driving in Tampa traffic). I would have lost my mind if I was the one driving!
During the conference, I laughed, I cried and I was reminded of God's great faithfulness and love. I hate how easily I forget just how awesome he is and my mind and heart wander. I was amazed at one point when a speaker asked all of the women to stand up who have had a miscarriage or a child die. Half of the arena stood up. I was amazed at the number, but more amazed that God had brought them all through. They made it through that difficult time and were still seeking God, worshiping Him. He is faithful.
Angie Smith (wife of Todd Smith who sings in christian group Selah) was one of the speakers and gave her testimony of losing their baby not too long after it was born. She has a book out called "What Women Fear: Walking in Faith that Transforms".
I just recently realized that I can use my new Android phone as a kindle and read books off of it! So, Angie's book was my very first book download. I love holding an actual book and the smell of the pages, but I must admit it is quite convenient to have the book right in my phone and be able to read it anywhere.
You can click on the link here to order the book and also join in on an online book club that is reading her book right now. They post videos of Angie and guests discussing their thoughts on each chapter as they go through the book.
