It rained yesterday. A lot. Thankfully, we had already planned to spend some leisurely time indoors at Books A Million. We looked through some baby name books, but our attention kept being drawn to the funny & weird names that we would never name our child.
Browsing through baby bedding and nursery decorating ideas has been fun. We are going with a monkey theme, whether we have a girl or a boy (which we won't know for 11 more weeks). Talk about suspense ;-)
Do you know how many monkey wall decals there are on Etsy? Tons! And they are adorable. Yesterday I came across a purple monkey that my sis gave me. You put bubble soap in it and it opens it's mouth and blows bubbles. I'm so glad I held onto it. How much is our kid going to love that!
This is the wall decal we'll put over the crib. |

So, while I've been dreaming about this monkey room (uh-oh, I think I'm already living out my dreams through my child) I've been not so much dreaming, but kind of dreading the thought of taking the baby to work after it's born.
I know there are probably lots of moms that have done this. But, if you could see the pictures in my head of me with the baby strapped to my body, with my headset attached to my ear and I'm answering the door with the baby fussily crying....it just seems crazy.
My office is the perfect set up to have the baby at work with me. My office actually use to be the church nursery. Maybe we should have left the animal murals up on the wall....
I have my own personal bathroom with plenty of room to put a changing table. There is space by my desk to set up a play pen and not block anyone from coming in and out.
So, while it is the ideal thing to do (have baby with me and be making money) I just wonder if I can handle a fussy baby in my arms, a fussy person on the phone and last minute projects that need to be done all at the same time, without throwing my own temper tantrum!
Our staff is WONDERFUL with a capital W, because they said they would take turns with the baby when I need a break. So, really there's nothing to worry about. I just know I will have some funny stories to share at the end of each day, I'm sure ;-)
