Avacados and Hand-Me Down Maternity Clothes

Avacados and hand-me down maternity clothes...this is how I'm seeing God's love these days.

Just 9 weeks ago, these items wouldn't have thrilled me, but today they do, because I am 9 weeks pregnant!

My husband and I are still getting use to the fact that we are actually having a BABY, so we haven't gotten to the part yet, where we sit down and figure out where we are going to feel the financial shift. But, the thought has at least occured to me that "This is going to cost some extra money" ;-) So, I recognize any small help in this area as a MAJOR blessing.

A friend from church has a huge avacado tree and has been bringing her "crop" in to share with me. Some get ripe before I can eat them, but thankfully my mom and sis like avacados too. They are around $2 each at the store right now. So, what a blessing to my wallet, on my salads, and "yum" to guacamole dip. I must tell you that avacado & tomato on toasted bread, with Mayo and garlic & herb seasoning, is pretty yummy too.

With all this avacado eating, I'm still not close to needing to wear maternity clothes yet. But, I received some hand me down maternity tops and pants that take up half the room of my closet (not because they were so big, but because there was so many) ;-)

8 Weeks and 4Days

So, I will continue to count blessings like these as my belly grows. This baby is beyond a blessing in itself. I have been diagnosed with Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome, which can be linked to infertility. I had been off birth control for about a year and a half and wondered what it was going to "take" for me to get pregnant. One of my friends had to do invitro, another friend tried acupuncture to help her get pregnant. I started eating better and taking Vitamin D when I found out my Vit D was very low and the Lord has done the rest.

So now I'm reading all of the mommy blogs I can possibly find right now and eating up their wisdom, along with my avacado and tomato sandwhiches.
